APPALACHIAN TRAIL - MA - SLACKPACKING - DAY 6 - 7 miles

 Day 6 - Massachusetts AT - 7 miles

We woke up to some exciting news this morning—one of the ladies spotted a black bear near the Airbnb and captured some great photos! After a delicious breakfast and packing our lunches, we hit the trail for another day of adventure.
The weather has been warming up as the week goes on, and today the trail challenged us with roots, mud, and plenty of big wooden planks. We took a well-deserved break at a October Mountain Shelter and even visited the famous Cookie Lady’s house.
After I left the trail, I treated myself to a wonderful nap—just what I needed. The day wrapped up perfectly with another amazing dinner before we all headed to bed early, ready for whatever tomorrow brings.

A sad day in the hiking community with the death of a father and daughter hiking Mt. Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.

I'd heard about the Cookie Lady on AT podcast - this was an unexpected
fun stop. (Next 5 photos)
Bilingual podcaster - I couldn't figure out how to change the language to English
on his podcast. He was interesting to meet.

I didn't keep up with FarOut on this hike. I followed our guides Sarah and Riley. They were great.
